Wikipedia defines an event horizon as "a boundary beyond which events cannot affect an observer." This is probably more scientific, and possibly more up–to–date, than the one I've used, which is from dictionary.com. I feel that this one may be better in this instance, because it doesn't include the word 'event'; it may also be closer to any definition that most quizzers will be familiar with.
